lyrics

Water pump broke, engine almost seized
Low on oil and out of anti-freeze
I'm rolling snake eyes, then I wrecked the truck
Just like my bank account now
Too many funerals, too many deaths
Too many friends taking one last breathe
No time for sorrow, the hands on the clock
are becoming arthritic now

What ever happened to the spirit of the Duke
This land was fought and paid in blood for you
What ever happened to fighting your own fights
What became of the honorable man? Did we lose him in our sights?

I've seen love and hate, and unfortunate fate in America
I've been broke, down, had better days in the U S A
I was born and bred and shaved my head in America
I'll be old and grey, and dig my grave, in the U S A

I'm sick, so sick, of what people take for granted
It doesn't compare to how hard, people in the past have had it
All those who fought in wars and fought for workers rights
Look down upon this generation in hateful spite
